This month’s employee feature hails from our Cranberry, New Jersey warehouse. Nowrule Branham, a multigenerational New Jerseyan, who takes pride in working hard, and stepping up when help is needed. Nowrule started at Soligent in our warehouse in the Fall of 2015. His first position was to get the rails ready and packaged for delivery. When the opportunity presented itself to move in the role of receiver he was the first to raise his hand as he knew how instrumental the role is in the success of the warehouse and Soligent as a whole. Nowrule has recently been promoted yet again to Warehouse Supervisor and has been doing a phenomenal job thus far.
Being a humble person, many people don’t know that he is an accomplished cartoonist and artist. It has been a pleasure to know him and I hope you enjoy getting to know him a little better through the questions below.
What is your name?
What department do you work in?
Warehouse Supervisor for Cranbury, New Jersey
How long have you worked at Soligent?
I am going on my 5th full year.
What advice would you give to your teenage self?
To be sure to take things more seriously. Start focusing on your dreams sooner than what I already did. Your potential is as large as anyone else’s. You just need to work your craft and don’t stop as I did.
What’s a trip that changed you, and why?
My trips to Sacramento and Fontana, where I helped start-up and open Soligent warehouses. As a young individual, being tasked with that amount of responsibility, while working my way from the ground up really opened a lot of doors and experiences in my life. I achieved things in two years that may have taken me decades to do normally.
What’s something—big or small—that you’re really good at?
I don’t really talk about my hobbies or what I am good at. But, I do draw (cartoonist) and people who see my work would say I’m really good at it.
What’s the best advice you were ever given? Who was it from?
My father told me to always consider yourself the best and never think anything less of yourself. But at the same time, stay humble and never think that others are beneath you.
What’s the best compliment you’ve ever received? That I have the mindset of someone striving for success and greatness.
What’s your favorite way to unwind after a busy day?
It could be one of three things. Drawing, play video games or watch an anime series I’m interested in.
If you could trade places with anyone for a day, who would you choose?
No one. There is no one I would want to be but myself.
What three words would your friends use to describe you?
Level Headed. Fun. Understanding.
What’s your favorite sport to watch and which team do you root for?
Well… I can’t say one without the other. The Los Angeles Lakers (NBA) & The Dallas Cowboys (NFL).
What’s one hobby you’d love to get into?
I would love to begin storytelling and creating mass fictional worlds of ever-expanding story.
What’s one song or artist that you’re embarrassed to admit you like?
Can’t say I have one. What is there to be embarrassed about? You are either accepted for what you like or you’re not. It’s impossible to please everyone.
What’s your favorite TV show—the one you’re always watching on repeat?
Dragon Ball Z. Basically anything with Dragon Ball in its name.
What’s the top destination on your must-visit list?
I would love to go to Japan. Their animation, love and culture for that form of media entertainment fascinate and inspires me.
What’s one totally irrational fear that you have?
I don’t really fear many things. But, I do strongly dislike spiders.
