The Ins & Outs of Loads

My name is Madeline and I am the Energy Storage Manager at Soligent. My mission is to inform and empower homeowners, installers and the Soligent Team to be the most knowledgeable about residential solar plus storage systems. I am continuously amazed and excited by the number of reasons to consider solar + storage. 

Hurricane season is upon us in the Southeast and California continues to move towards an increase in electrifying buildings. Resiliency and reducing your electrical consumption from the grid are two great reasons to consider storage. 

I have mentioned previously the importance of identifying loads to properly size your battery-based equipment. Three webinar sessions ago, we learned about how to measure loads with different home energy monitors. This month, I discussed the nitty-gritty of how a load performs.

Being able to look at an appliance and make conclusions based on its electrical characteristics is a very helpful skill. The more precision involved in load analysis, the better the system will perform for your customer.
