Innovations Beyond Solar

My name is Madeline Acri and I am the Energy Storage Manager at Soligent. My mission is to inform and empower homeowners, installers and the Soligent Team to be the most knowledgeable about residential solar plus storage systems.  

In the modern world of 2020, innovation surrounds us. Cell Phones, SmartWatches, and Smart Home Monitoring devices are making people’s lives more synchronized and automatic. “Alexa, turn on the lights.” With innovation comes peace of mind, especially in solar. 

Today, a single solar panel now has 2 power-producing faces instead of one and boasts 405W of power. Batteries can now be pre-programmed to integrate with an inverter, eliminating the guess-work in configuring battery set points. Solar inverters now can come furnished with a level 2 EV charger. Mobile apps for storage and inverters have made Homeowners feel more secure in their solar purchase and more excited to learn more about other innovations for the future of their system.

Back in May 2019, the US surpassed 2 million solar installations. That is a huge milestone for our industry! It’s hard to imagine all of the progress we’ll continue to make before the 3 millionth installation is complete, but hopefully sometime next year. Now, if all of these technologies are a part of our present, what is in store for our future?
