Sizing PV when you have storage
When considering a battery installation, the first step is to identify how the battery will be used for the home. Deciding how the battery will run is important to establish how deeply the battery will be discharged and how frequently the discharging will occur. Once this is set, the PV can be easily measured based on anticipated sun hours shined each day. After calculating the battery bank size and the accompanying PV array size then the total inverter power can be measured. Starting with the battery bank, then moving to PV, then the inverter is the most logical way to “follow the loads” and make sure the sizing is appropriate. Learn more in this webinar as we discuss this in more detail.

Deep Green Solar Direct Pay through Soligent’s Solar Engine platform allows Soligent customers to leverage better cash management strategies to grow their business. Direct Pay relieves the cash flow constraints that you manage during the pre-construction phase. Using this program installers are able to order equipment without paying for it upfront, or applying against their credit terms. -
Discussing DC/AC Ratio When Optimally Sizing a Solar + Storage System
When sizing PV based on a grid-connected system, there is some nuance to the DC size of the solar array as it relates to the AC output of your inverter. The sizing tactics change even more when a battery is added to the mix. Now, we want to consider powering the house loads AND charging a battery bank if it is depleted. Tune in to this webinar to learn more about this topic!

Mastering the Retrofit
As we dive into Q4, there is no time like the present to take a moment and review the steps of navigating a storage retrofit. Thousands of customers across the country have solar systems and they might want to consider storage for backup or to avoid inequitable electricity buy back rates.
There are a few elements of adding storage to a house with existing solar that may not seem obvious. When sizing solar alone, the total kWh of the house are considered as a whole. To incorporate storage, most homes backup a portion of the homes rather than the whole house, so the kWh of the specific loads or rooms in a house are considered. If a house experiences demand charges, the kW value of an inverter and battery bank might also be considered.
In this webinar we discuss how to size a battery-based inverter according to the size of the existing grid-tied inverter. And we evaluate battery bank sizing and setting expectations with homeowners.
